St. James has a long history of a strong youth program. No less than six St. James youth have become president of the SCLCY. Two of our youth have been SCLCY Chaplains. Two sons of the congregation (James Addy and Jason Antley) have become ordained ministers and a third (Joel Antley) is currently in seminary. Pastor Al Potter was very influential in getting the youth program started when he was pastor at St. James by offering a Clown Worship program. Pastor Barry Antley continued that tradition when he became pastor but offered other programs for our youth to participate in, but very much a supporter of our state LCY program. The youth in the congregation lead worship one Sunday every year and also have different events that they host that involves the older members of the congregation. The youth have always had a strong support system in the congregation to help them participate in different state and national events. Our youth are very active in worship participation also with Worship Team and participating in different musical groups.
